Safe and effective hands-on technique that involves gentle, sustained pressure to
eliminate pain and restore motion by releasing fascia.

Fascia is the three dimensional web-like connective tissue that encases and connects everything in the body. Myofascial Release is performed directly on the skin with hands or soft cups, enabling the therapist to accurately detect fascial connective tissue restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to aid in the release of fascia. Myofascial pain can be generated from either the skeletal muscle or connective tissues that are bound down by the tight fascia. In addition to this, pain can derive from damaged myofascial tissue itself, sometimes at a “trigger point” where muscle fiber contraction has occurred. MFR focuses on releasing this tightness and there are a number of symptoms this therapy can address such as but not limited to…

-Tightness of the tissues that restricts motion or pulls the body out of alignment, causing individuals to favor and overuse another part of the body

-A sense of excessive pressure on muscles or joints that causes pain

-Pain in other parts of the body, including headache or back pain.
